Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball is still dancing as they upset Dordt University on Saturday in Iowa, 75-73.
An instant classic from start to finish, Saturday's contest was a high scoring affair from tip-off. OKWU trailed early but found their way back with some big shots. The Eagles led by two at halftime, 39-37.
OKWU continued to find their groove shooting the basketball in the second half. The Eagles stretched their lead as large as 12 points before Dordt came storming back.
Derrick Talton Jr. led the scoring again for the Eagles finishing with 24 points. Nick Bene was right behind him going for 19. The Eagles as a team shot 11-18 from the outside and shot over 50% from the field throughout the contest.
The win sends OKWU to Kansas City for the round of 16 for the second consecutive season. They will take on Baker University on March 21 at 7 p.m.
