Bartlesville High basketball wrapped up its first season under head coach Tommy DeSalme two weeks ago.

The Bruins won three games in DeSalme’s BHS debut. However, there were several games within Bartlesville’s grasp down the stretch that fell through the Bruin’s fingers.

Single digit losses against NW Classen, Jenks, Ponca City and Sapulpa in the final month of the season showed the growth BHS had since November.

DeSalme says as the offseason is here, he wants to see some commitment to the sport and the program from key young players before next year tips off.

Bartlesville will return every key piece except for starting shooting guard Nash Zervas. Zervas was the only senior on this year’s roster, which was mostly comprised of juniors and freshman.

DeSalme says in 2025-26, BHS should be ahead of where the Bruins were last year after the past 12 months of hard work.

We will have more from DeSalme wrapping up the 2025 basketball season next week and a feature on Bruin senior Nash Zervas over the next few days, as well.
