Nowata Prepares for Regional Championship Against Wyandotte

Nowata basketball's fight for survival extends another day as the Ironmen prepare for Wyandotte on Tuesday afternoon in Ramona.
 
Nowata is 2-1 in the playoffs right now with wins over Pawhuska on Monday and the Caney Valley Trojans back in the district round. They fell to Okemah in the regional semifinals of the winners bracket on Saturday.
 
Nowata eliminated Pawhuska on Monday in a come from behind win, 45-36.
 
Wyandotte knocked out Caney Valley on Monday as well, 84-48.
 
Head coach Derick Ott spoke on how pivotal offense is in the playoffs.
 
This elimination game between Nowata and Wyandotte is for a regional consolation championship. The winner will advance to an area playoff in Enid, the loser's season will be over.
 
Tip-off from Holly Ward Gymnasium will be at 2:30 p.m. Coverage of the game can be heard on Sports Talk 99.1 FM - KPGM.
