Bartlesville Splits Finale at Ponca City

Bartlesville High hoops split its final double-header of the 2024-25 season on Friday night in Ponca City. The Lady Bruins prevailed easily while the BHS guys again dropped a tough one.

For the BHS girls, Bartlesville outlasted Ponca, 58-40.

The Lady Bruins led wire-to-wire but the game was in doubt in the second half. BHS led by 12 into the fourth quarter after leading by 14 at halftime. A late scoring spurt from Emma Zimmerman helped put the game away.

This basket and the foul inched Bartlesville’s lead larger in the final few minutes.

Zimmerman finished with 18 points This was the second game in a row that Zimmerman has had a new season-high in points.

Bartlesville ends the regular season at 13-11.

On the guy’s side the Bruin’s again couldn’t get a victory in a close game down the stretch, as Ponca City outlasted Bartlesville, 42-41.

The Wildcats started the third quarter on a tear. Ponca began the frame on a 9-0 run after Bartlesville led at halftime by eight. After scoring only 13 points in the first half Po Hi scored 29 in the second.

BHS spent most of the second half in a hole. This Jordan Turner putback kept the Bruins in it down the stretch.

Trae Collins led the way with 17.

The Bruin guys finish the regular season at 3-19.

Both BHS clubs are in the playoffs up next and face elimination next weekend. Lady Bruins against Westmoore on Thursday night at 7:30. Bruin guys at Owasso on Friday night at 6:00.
