Oklahoma Union basketball opens their playoff run on Friday with a trip to Oktaha. It marks the second season in a row where OKU is paired with Oktaha in the district round.

Last year, the Cougars went 1-2 in the postseason and lost to Oktaha.

OKU head coach Riley Duncan spoke on how his team can match up with Oktaha a second time.

Oklahoma Union finished the season 12-12 after winning just six games last year.

The district playoff game against Oktaha is not an elimination game. A win on the road advances the Cougars to the winners bracket of regionals and puts OKU against the winner of Hulbert and Central (Sallisaw) in Hulbert on Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m.

A loss puts them on the brink of elimination. They would still play on Feb. 20 but play at 2:30 p.m. instead in Hulbert against the loser of the Hulbert and Central game.

OKU and Oktaha clash at 7:30 p.m.
