Basketball all throughout the state and Northeast Oklahoma on Friday evening, classes 2A and below will begin District playoffs action with some teams facing elimination. Meanwhile the bigger schools are starting to wrap up their regular seasons.
Bartlesville High has its second-to-last District game and home game during the 2024-25 season on Friday night.
BHS will host Broken Arrow at Bruin Field House. Both the Tiger girls and boys are leading 6A District 4 and handled the Bruins during the teams’ first matchup in BA.
On the girl’s side, Bartlesville snapped a two-game losing skid on Tuesday with a blowout win against an overmatched NW Classen team. Even with the 40-point victory, Lady Bruin head coach Justyn Shaw says he thought his team could have played better.
After losses to Sapulpa and Enid last week, BHS is now in a battle for fourth place in the District. Broken Arrow is 2-0 against Bartlesville on the girl’s side. The Tigers beat Bartlesville in the finals of the ConocoPhillips Arvest Invitational just a few days after winning the regular season matchup with the Bruins. The two wins came by a combined 79 points in early January.
Shaw talks about keys against the Lady Tigers.
