OKWU Basketball Moved to Thursday

Oklahoma Wesleyan’s doubleheader against Ottawa has been moved to Thursday night at the Mueller Sports Center. The women’s and men’s games were originally scheduled for Wednesday.
The women’s game will tip-off first at 5:30 p.m. with the men to follow at 7:30 p.m. The OKWU men’s reserves team will start all the action at 3:30 p.m.
The Lady Eagles enter the contest on Thursday night with an overall record of 11-13 and 8-10 in the KCAC. They dropped a back-and-forth battle against Sterling College on Saturday afternoon, 81-70. Last time against Ottawa, the Lady Eagles pulled it out in overtime, 86-80. The OKWU women sit in ninth place in the KCAC standings, two games out of a conference tournament spot with four games left on the schedule.
The OKWU men sit atop the KCAC standings with an overall record of 18-6 and a 15-3 conference record. They have won nine straight, eight by double digits. On Saturday, the Eagles took care of Sterling College, 77-63. Last time against Ottawa, the offense led the way in an 89-74 win on the road.
Thursday night’s game against Ottawa is the final game of the current three game homestand, leaving only one home game left on Feb. 22 against McPherson College.
