Dewey Drops Road Contest in Oologah
Brian McSweeney
Bulldogger basketball fell on the road to Oologah on Tuesday night, 69-54.
Dewey had a tough time containing the outside shot from Oologah. They trailed by 10 at halftime, 31-21. Ayden Gaines and Ethan Hadley for the Mustangs led the way offensively, both knocking down shots from the outside at a consistent pace. Gaines hit this three-pointer in the second quarter that made it a 10-point game.
The deficit for Dewey stretched to as large as 19 in the second half before Austin Eastman lit it up. Eastman made big shots in the third quarter especially, including this one to help cut into the deficit.
The deficit would be too much to overcome, as the Bulldoggers dropped their record to 6-7.
Next will be the opening round of the Caney Valley Tournament in Ramona, Oklahoma. Dewey will open against Cleveland at 8:30 p.m. Coverage of the game will be on 104.9 KRIG.
