BHS Hoops Split v NW Classen
Bartlesville High girls’ and boys’ hoops split a pair of games against Northwest Classen in a return to District play at Bruin Field House on Tuesday night.
The Lady Bruins rolled while the Bruin guys battled but dug themselves too big of a hole early.
The Lady Bruins dominated with a 65-8 victory.
After leading 25-6 at halftime Bartlesville outscored the Lady Knights 40-2 in the second half to secure the win. The clock ran for most of the fourth quarter.
It was an 18-0 lead early that put the writing on the wall. Sami Sheaffer had this shot at the second quarter buzzer that extended the BHS lead.
Sheaffer finished with 16, Kenzie Denny had her first game in double-figures with 13. Alayah Lunn added 14.
BHS girls improve to 6-4 and get back to 3-3 in District action.
On the guy’s side the Knights were able to get good looks in transition to beat the Bruins, 74-45. Despite the 45 points being the most since Dec. 10, NW Classen was able to shoot 54 percent from the field in the win.
This Trae Collins three-pointer helped the Bruins keep pace in the second quarter.
Bartlesville again had several guys limited or not play because of the flu. BHS had three guys in double-figures in Nash Zerves, Dennis Duncan and Jordan Turner.
Bruin guys fall to 2-10 and 0-6 in District action.
Both Bartlesville teams travel to Jenks on Friday for another double-header.
