Update at 10:00 AM Thursday: 

The ConocoPhillips Arvest Tournament Schedule has been altered after some teams have decided not to travel due to the winter weather. 

The Lady Bruins game against Tulsa Central has been called off, meanwhile the Bruin guys against Ponca City will start at 2:30 PM

Updates on how this effects the tournament brackets will be available later on Thursday. 

The Bruin - Ponca City game will air on Sports Talk 99.1 FM - KPGM with video coverage on KWONTV.com.

Always one of the biggest weekends in sports in Bartlesville, Bartlesville High is hosting the annual ConocoPhillips Arvest Invitational from Bruin Field House starting on Thursday morning.

The Bruin boys are facing Ponca City in the first round, BHS is looking to snap an eight-game losing skid since beating its rival Ponca in the season opener. Despite a lopsided loss against Broken Arrow on Tuesday, Bruin skipper Tommy DeSalme says he was pleased with his team’s effort.

BHS beat Ponca City 49-40 all the way back on November 22 in DeSalme’s debut at Bruin Field House. He says the Wildcats are still bigger and stronger than Bartlesville and have gotten better over the past month-plus.

The ConocoPhillips-Arvest has been one of the premiere high school basketball tournaments in the region for decades, and a more recent change to make it both a girl’s and guy’s event gives the community three chances to check out both BHS basketball team’s this weekend.

DeSalme says this Bruin club could use a big crowd to get it back on track.
