Bruins Have Tough Night at BA
Bartlesville High basketball ran into a buzz saw on Tuesday night against two of the best teams in the state in Broken Arrow to begin play in 2025.
On the girl’s side a good first quarter couldn’t keep, as Broken Arrow pulled away for an 82-44 win.
Bartlesville trailed only 16-15 into the second quarter, but BHS then only scored 17 points over the next two periods to let BA build a 30-point lead into the fourth quarter.
Hot shooting gave BHS some hope, this bucket from Sami Shaeffer kept the Bruins in it early.
Shaeffer had a Bartlesville career-high of 20 points.
On the guy’s side, it was all BA from the start. Tigers topped Bartlesville, 72-19. BA had three guys taller than 6-5 in the starting lineup and gave the Bruins fits offensively. BHS turnovers turned to Broken Arrow offense on the other end.
Bartlesville did have a good second quarter, this halftime buzzer beater from Nash Zervas was a highlight.
Zervas led BHS with 11.
Both Bartlesville teams host the annual ConocoPhillips Arvest Invitational at Bruin Field House starting on Thursday night at 7:00 for the girls and 8:30 for the guys.
