Best of 2024: Asher and Bruins Beat Union - Again
This week KWON will look at back at some of our biggest local sports stories of the past calendar year. All leading up to a year in review program for Bartlesville and the surrounding area at the turn of the year.
Let;s go back to the spring, where Bartlesville High baseball knocked off Union in its own Regional for the second time in as many years.
BHS was playing a first-round game against the Redhawks on their own turf when Bartlesville ace Brenden Asher turned in a gem in his final start on the mound as a Bruin.
Bartlesville would walk-it-off on a dribbler from Mason Dryden that won the game.
Asher over seven innings scattered five hits, struck out five and gave up one run in a 2-1 Bruin winner. The victory capped one of the best Bruin pitching careers of all time.
Bartlesville head baseball coach Cody Price talks about Asher.
Brenden is currently a freshman at Oral Roberts University and will pitch for the Golden Eagle program this spring.
