Bulldoggers Pull Away Late to Beat Chelsea
The Dewey Bulldoggers led wire-to-wire on Tuesday night en route to a 46-28 home win over the Chelsea Dragons.
The Dragons had kept things within a couple of possessions all game long, but with Dewey leading it 41-32 a minute into the fourth quarter, this sequence extended the lead to double digits and the Doggers never looked back.
In a high scoring first half, Dewey led 16-7 at the end of the first quarter and took a seven point lead into the halftime break. Scoring was well distributed for Dewey, but it was Zach Renfroe leading the way. He hit two big three pointers in the fourth quarter.
The Chelsea Lady Dragons topped Dewey, 24-21. A three-point attempt with 15 seconds left came up short for the Lady Bulldoggers. After Chelsea missed two free throws, they got their own rebound and were able to dribble out the clock.
Dewey ends the fall semester with a trip north of the border to take on Caney, Kansas.
