It is another Monday, which means we have another Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week. Today we have our first winter sport athlete this sports season.

The Bartlesville girl’s swim team won the 2024 state championship in this past February and Annabelle Droege was one of the main returners from that group full of seniors last year.

Droege, like many of Bartlesville’s best swimmers, has been at it for more than a decade. She has swum under the coaching of Chad Englehart for most of her career.

Droege talks about having Englehart as a head coach. 

Bartlesville swim is off to a good start in 2024-25, although not as deep as last year, Droege says she believes this Lady Bruin team could make a run to the podium in the spring.

Droege says that having friends on the team is the greatest part about being in the swim program. Droege talks about some of those friends and what it means to her.

As far as her future, Droege says she plans on going to Norman this coming fall and majoring in Nursing at OU.

Right now, Droege says she has an internship at the research center.
