Bartlesville High boys’ basketball started the Latta Tournament at 0-1, as the host-club Latta Panthers topped BHS late on Thursday night.

Latta held on for dear life in a 35-33 win.

The game was back-and-forth the entire way. Bartlesville trailed by six points at half and 11 points at one point early in the third, but never went away. Bartlesville rallied within one point several times in the final minutes but could never get the lead.

This bucket from Trae Collins off an offensive rebound gave the Bruins some hope in the final couple of minutes.

Bartlesville got another big shot to fall from Jordan Turner, which put pressure on the Panthers down the stretch.

Collins and Nash Zervas both finished in double-figures.

The Bruins move to the consolation bracket of the event against Lone Grove on Friday afternoon at a 2:45 scheduled tip off on Sports Talk 99.1 FM – KPGM.
