It's another Monday and that means it is time for another Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week powered by Tri County Tech. Today we go to Nowata and feature Ironmen star Keyshawn Verner. 

Nowata football earned their first playoff spot in five years this season, and Senior Captain and receiver and defensive back Keyshawn Verner was a huge reason why.

Verner led the Ironmen with 23 catches for 307 yards and one touchdown, while having two interceptions and 1 fumble recovery on defense. Verner though is most proud of how the team handled adversity and being a part of a senior class to bring Nowata back to the postseason. He has hopes of playing football at the next level and is currently going through the recruitment process. Here are his post high school goals.

Verner in his free time enjoys listening to music and spending time with family and friends. He has a hidden talent as well. 

Verner keeps himself busy by also being involved in multiple sports. In the spring he plays baseball and track & field, a rare combination. He explains how that works.
