Pawhuska Football Season Ends in 2nd Round
The Pawhuska Huskies saw their season come to an end on Friday night, as they fell to Christian Heritage Academy, 38-36.
Trailing 38-30 with just over four minutes remaining, Pawhuska got the ball back in Crusader territory following a failed attempt at a fake punt.
The Huskies drove it inside the 5-yard line and finished the drive off with a score from Vann Wildcat but needed to tack on the two-point conversion.Christian Heritage Academy recovered the onside kick with less than two minutes to go and was able to run out the clock.
Early in the game it looked like Pawhuska had the advantage. The Huskies led it 14-10 and this touchdown got the Huskies off to a great start.
The play of the game came on the defensive side of the ball for the Crusaders. As the Huskies were looking to make it a three-score game near halftime, they got an interception, which they returned to the inside the Husky five.
Two plays later, CHA scored, trimming the halftime deficit to five.
Pawhuska finishes the year at 9-3.
