OKWU basketball earns split against Tabor in KCAC opener

Oklahoma Wesleyan men's and womens basketball made their KCAC season debut, with the women's falling to Tabor College 79-62 and the Eagles Men's winning big 79-66. In the women's game, OKWU hung in with the Blue Jays early, staging a double-digit comeback to get within two in the 3rd quarter. Tabor though pulled away in the 4th quarter as OKWU fell to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in KCAC play. They next host Friends University on Wednesday.
The OKWU men's overcame a slow start, using a dominant first five minutes where Tabor could not score a single point, building a 22 point second half lead and ultimately winning 79-66. Eagles Foward Jaden Lietzke led all scorers with 16 points, while DJ. Talton Jr. had six steals in the win. OKWU improves to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the KCAC. OKWU basketball will be back in action on Wednesday as they host Friends University at 5;30 and 7:30. Radio coverage will be on 99.1 KPGM and bartlesvilleradio.com.
