Copan Looks for 1st Playoff Win in 16 Years
Let’s look at one of the favorites this weekend in high school football's postseason up in Copan.
The Hornets are hosting their first playoff game since 2008. Following an 8-2 regular season and a 4-1 District record, Copan was the 2-seed out of Class B-II District 4. Copan hosts 5-5 Cherokee on Friday night.
The home game is the next in a continuation of goals for Copan football, which has gotten considerably better over the past three years. Copan made the playoffs for the first time in more than a decade last year.
Head coach Marshall Foreman talks about importance of getting in the postseason.
The Hornets improved to 8-2 after a blowout win at Arkoma on Friday night, 46-0.
Cherokee will be a major test. Foreman says the Chiefs may be the second or third best team his club has faced so far.
Foreman says that stopping the run game will be a major key for the Hornets on Friday night.
