Bruins Run to Blowout Win Over PC West
Bartlesville High football has won two in a row, as the Bruins took care of Putnam City West with relative ease on Friday night at Custer Stadium.
Bartlesville beat the Patriots, 40-9, there was a running clock at the tail end of the contest.
BHS led PC West 33-9 at halftime, the Bruins scored on one of their two possessions in the third quarter before the clock started to run.
It was mostly the ground game for Bartlesville.
The Bruins had nearly 240 yards of rushing. Freshman quarterback Michael Kent got his first rushing touchdown of the season to help extend the Bruin lead in the second quarter.
Both tailbacks in Sutton Williams and Daeton Stevens ran for more than 100 yards. It was Steven’s first over the 100-yard mark and Williams’ first since Sand Springs.
The only passing touchdown of the game went to Damien Niko, also in the first half.
Bartlesville will officially be in the 2024 6A-II playoffs with the win.
The Bruins will next host Capitol Hill for senior night on Friday at Custer Stadium.
BHS is 2-7 overall and 2-4 in the District.
