Bartlesville Softball Wrap Up
Bartlesville High softball had its season wrap up a bit more than a week ago, as the Bruins nearly got a win in the 6A State Tournament. BHS lost to Owasso in extra innings in the first round.
Bartlesville had some chances to score earlier in the game but could never get a crucial hit. Eventually Owasso scored two in the top of the eighth. The Rams would go on to win the 6A State Championship.
Bartlesville head coach Kyle Minton says the loss does not take away from a fantastic season.
Bartlesville will return most of its pitching staff and a bit more than half of its starting lineup next year. There were about five senior starters this fall.
Minton says despite getting shut out against Owasso, he thought Bartlesville’s offensive performance was solid. Minton talks about the BHS bats in the State Tournament loss.
Bartlesville finished the season at 28-12 and made its first State Tournament since 2010.
Nearly the same core of players will be back in the spring for slow pitch softball, which also made state a year ago.
