Oklahoma football is going to have a new offensive coordinator next week – sort of.

OU head coach Brent Venables announced on Sunday that he fired Seth Littrell after the Sooner’s offense sputtered again in a loss at home to South Carolina on Saturday.

Gamecocks beat the Sooners 32-9 after scoring 21 in the first quarter all off OU turnovers.

In a statement on Sunday Venables said:

"Seth is an all-time great Sooner. He has a deep love for this university and football program, and has poured his heart and soul into both. Despite that, our performance as an offense this season has not at all lived up to the OU standard and I felt a change was necessary now.”

After the loss on Saturday, and before the firing on Sunday, Littrell said college coaching has its ups and downs.

OU is promoting its other Co-OC Joe Jon Finley, who will take over interim play-calling duties. Kevin Johns, former Duke OC, is moving to Co-OC and quarterback’s coach.

OU goes to Ole Miss on Saturday morning at 11:00.

Things are just as bad in Stillwater, as Oklahoma State is the only winless Big 12 team after four weeks.

Cowboys played quite a bit better, but still lost on the road at No. 13 BYU on Friday night, 38-35. The still-undefeated Cougars were trailing late in the fourth but drove down the field and scored with less than 15 seconds remaining in the game.

Head coach Mike Gundy postgame on KWON.

Pokes next go to Baylor on Saturday afternoon at 3:30.
