Bartlesville High has qualified for its first State Tournament since 2010, as the Bruins left for Oklahoma City on Wednesday afternoon.

BHS stands at 28-11 entering State. The Bruins received the No. 7 seed of the eight teams there and will face Owasso at 5:00 on Thursday evening in the opening round.

The 28 wins for Bartlesville are 15 victories better than last year. Head coach Kyle Minton gives some credit to the slow pitch season earlier this year for the improvement. BHS qualified for the slow pitch state tournament in the spring.

Minton talks about how it translates.

Owasso will be no easy task in the first round. The Rams tied for the District championship and swept the Bruins in two games in the regular season by a combined score of 18-0.

Minton talks about the matchup with Owasso.

The 5:00 game against the Rams is the last game of the day on Thursday at Devon Park.
