Alex Benzegala
In what might have been one of the most complete performances for Dewey in the Ryan Richardson era, the Bulldoggers got their first win since August 2023, ending a14-game losing streak in a 34-16 win over Westville on Friday night.
Dewey started the game forcing two Yellow Jackets fumbles and turning them into touchdowns, first a Easton Davis touchdown pass to Jayden Vallen on 4th down from two yards out and then a 70 yard pass again to Vallen to make it 14-0 Bulldoggers.
After another defensive stop, Dewey kept it going with this Davis score to give the Bulldoggers a commanding lead 20-0 lead.
Dewey lead 20-8 at halftime and on the first play of scrimmage of the 3rd quarter they hit Westville with another big play.
The Bulldoggers used 2nd half two interceptions Layne Gastel to help pull away to earn their first win of the year to improve to 1-5 and 1-2 in district play. They next travel to face Daniel Webster next week.
