Bartlesville High softball is one win from the 6A State Tournament, as BHS won both its games during the first day of Regionals at Ponca City on Wednesday.

The Bruins beat Edmond North and the homestanding Ponca City Wildcats to move on to day two of the tournament undefeated.

It was an 11-1 win over Edmond North in the first game. BHS knocked out 12 hits, with Lola Reddington getting three in the victory. Lexi Durao got the complete game win in the circle.

In game two it was another brilliant outing from pitcher Kelsi Yales. BHS beat Ponca City 4-1. Yales had 12 strikeouts over seven frames. Ponca had six errors, which helped lead to the four Bruin runs.

Bartlesville will now have to win one of its next two to advance to state at 2:00 on Thursday afternoon. If BHS falls in that one, it will play at 4:00 right after.
