Wednesday afternoon is the first postseason matchup for Bartlesville High Athletics, as the Lady Bruin softball team begins the 6A playoffs in Ponca City.

The Bruins have ridden three quality arms to one of their best seasons in the past 15 years. BHS starts the 6A Regionals against Edmond North on Wednesday afternoon.

Three starting pitchers in Allison Rosson, Kelsi Yales and Lexi Durao have put the Bruins in a position where a state tournament berth is a real possibility. Head coach Kyle Minton says he feels that all three will give the Bruins a chance to take home a Regional title.

This is why Minton says ultimately how far Bartlesville goes will likely come down to how well the Bruins play on offense.

The two main contenders in the Regional, homestanding Ponca and the three-seed Edmond North, are somewhat unknowns for Bartlesville. BHS has not played them so far this year.

Minton talks about what Edmond North will bring in the first contest.

A 2:00 first pitch on Wednesday between the Bruins and Huskies. On the opposite side of the bracket, Ponca takes on Putnam City at noon. It is a four-team double-elimination tournament, with the winner going to state.
