Copan Football Surges into WCS Matchup

Week No. 6 of high school football is coming up on Friday night across the area.

Copan continues to be one of the bright spots in Northeast Oklahoma. The Hornets are the only team in Washington County with a win over a varsity football team. Copan improved to 4-1 with a halftime run rule win over Olive this past Friday, 58-7.

The blowout win came on the heels of Copan’s first loss of the season the week prior. Head coach Marshall Foreman says that made this past week’s win feel particularly good.

Teegan Caron had five touchdowns in the victory. Foreman says he started pulling starters midway through the second quarter.

Up next on Friday, a game in Bartlesville against Wesleyan Christian School. The shuffling of the OSSAA Districts in the spring put the Hornets and Mustangs back in the same District. The game on Friday will be the District openers for both teams.

More on this game from the WCS side later this week.
