The Pawhuska Huskies were stuck in neutral from the opening kickoff on Friday night in a 64-16 loss at Pawnee. That loss is the first district loss of the season for the Huskies.

Coach Matt Hennesy knew the Huskies were going to have to be in position and make plays defensively, something they were unable to do in the first half, as Pawnee led 56-16 at halftime. Heading into the game, Hennesy knew the defense was going to have to get off the field if they were going to win the game.

The Black Bear defense swarmed all night long, but one highlight for the Huskies came on this play from Lane Kyler.

It will be a quick turnaround for Pawhuska. The Huskies will look to put this loss behind them, as they host a Tonkawa team on Thursday that has outscored its two district opponents by a combined score of 109-8. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:30 p.m. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. On 99.1 FM KPGM and KPGMTV.com.
