Bartlesville High football finally gets to play at Custer Stadium for the first time this season on Friday night.

Sept. 20 is one of the latest home start dates ever for BHS football. The Bruins will host 5A foe Collinsville Friday evening.

Like most clubs, Bartlesville had been battling some injuries that have been helped by the off week.

Head coach Harry Wright talks about the bye week coming at a good time.

As always, Collinsville will present a challenge for the BHS. The Cardinals and Bruins will play for the seventh straight year, with Collinsville going 6-0 in the previous six matchups.

Despite the lopsided Cardinal advantage in series, the games have been anything but bowouts. Five of the six have been decided by 13 points or less, with three of the six coming by a single possession.

BHS has gotten behind two touchdowns in the first quarter in each of its first two games this season, only to rally back and draw even or take the lead late.

Wright says starting the game better will be imperative against Collinsville.

A 6:30 pregame with a 7:00 kick Friday evening from Custer Stadium.

We will have the game for you tonight on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1. Video coverage on KWONTV.com.
