OKWU athletics shine over weekend

It was a big weekend for Oklahoma Wesleyan athletics, the women's soccer team as the Eagles held their home opener on Saturday, as they remained undefeated on the season after a 1-0 win over John Brown University. It was a late goal from in the 85th minute from Senior Midfielder Alana Doherty that broke the tie as #14 OKWU improved to 3-0-2 on the season.
Eagles host Soutwestern College on Saturday.
 
In a matchup of top 15 NAIA men's soccer teams, # 6 Oklahoma Wesleyan used two goals from  brothers Kirill and Nikita Pakhomov to edge #14 Midamerican Christian 2-1. Next they open conference play against Soutwestern College on Wednesday.
 
OKWU Volleyball stayed red hot as they beat Missouri Valley in straight sets 3-0. Eagles have won 12 straight games and at 15-1 are ranked 6th in the latest NAIA poll. It marks the first time they are ranked in the top-ten nationally in school history.
