Another local club with an early-season bye coming this weekend is Bartlesville High.

The Bruins will get this Friday off before their home opener on Sept. 20 at Custer Stadium.

BHS performed much better offensively against Claremore in a 35-33 loss last week, but again had some struggles on defense. The Zebra quarterback run game caused BHS some issues. After shuffling around some guys to try to tackle better, some players were out of position last weekend.

As for the personnel, Wright says this extra week of practice to rep some of the newer guys at different spots should be a help moving forward.
