Following a 50-6 win over the Nowata Ironmen last Friday, the Pawhuska Huskies make their home debut this Friday and will see a step-up in competition. The Meeker Bulldogs, who are the tenth ranked team in Class 2A-II, visit Ormond-Beach Memorial Stadium for the first of three difficult non-district games for the Huskies.

Coach Matt Hennesy says the biggest challenge his team will face is a size discrepancy up front.

Pawhuska was originally scheduled to play Bixby's JV this week, but after Hennesy learned that Meeker was looking for a game this week, he decided to schedule the Bulldogs. Hennesy says there will be a distinct difference between the two teams and it will be about which strategy rises to the top and claims the victory.

Friday is alumni night in Pawhuska. Any former cheerleader, band member or football player can get into the game for free. Refreshments and snacks will be served at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria.

After having an extra scrimmage during zero week, this will be Meeker's first game of the year. Kickoff from Pawhuska is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the broadcast can be heard on 99.1 FM KPGM and streaming on KPGMTV.com.
