Nowata football kicks off the season on Friday night in a home game against regional foe Pawhuska.

The Ironmen are coming off their best season since 2019, going 4-6 in 2023.

Nowata head coach Chance Juby it’s a challenge facing a Huskies team that has their eyes set on a deep post-season run, but also says that it's a great opportunity.

Nowata hopes to avenge a 50-6 loss to Pawhuska in their last meeting in 2023 and will look to veteran three-year starters in Treavor Emberson at quarterback and Jerome Jackson on the offensive and defensive lines to provide leadership.

Juby says his team has respect for the Huskies and Coach Matt Hennesy and their staff.

Join Ty Loftis for all the action Friday night between Nowata and Pawhuska with coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. on Sports Talk 99.1 – KPGM and KPGMTV.com.

Kickoff from Nowata is set for 7 p.m.
