The Doenges Ford Indians are a victory away from the finals of the Oklahoma State Legion Tournament, as the Tribe won a gritty contest against a young Ada A’s team late on Friday night.

Bartlesville topped the A’s 10-8. It was not easy.

The Indians scored in each of their six offensive innings. Bartlesville tacked on three insurance runs in the sixth, and they needed them all.

The Tribe drew 12 walks and knocked in 10 base hits.

Ada brought the tying run to scoring position in the top of the seventh, but Jackson Zaun got out of it to secure the win.

Bryce Leulf, Kaleb Bashford and Eli Winters all had multiple base hits.

The Indians trailed three separate times, including as late as the fifth. B’ville would eventually tie it on this RBI single to the opposite field.

Winters had a valiant outing on the mound, too. He tossed the first 5.1 innings, surrendering only four earned runs and striking out five.

Bartlesville improves to 22-14-1 on the summer.

The Indians will now face the Shawnee Diamond Jacks at 11:00 in another elimination game on Saturday morning. Win, and the Tribe will face the Ada Braves in the first of two possible title games. Lose, and their season will end.
