Oklahoma head football coach Brent Venables took the podium on Tuesday afternoon for Day two of the SEC Media Days from the Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas.

Many of the questions focused on the Sooner’s inaugural season in the SEC. Venables says he hopes the mix of experience and talented newcomers is enough to make some noise this fall.

Venables talks about OU’s current roster construction.

Recruiting was also a hot topic. Venables says going after the best in the country means sometimes you’re competing against conference foes, who also have a lot to sell.

Venables talks recruiting in the Sooner’s new conference.

OU’s 2024 recruiting class was ranked fifth in the conference behind LSU, Texas, Georgia and Alabama.

The Sooners will open the 2024 season on a Friday night at home against Temple on August 30.
