Former Bartlesville Bruin and Doenges Ford Indian right-handed pitcher Jakob Hall celebrated with his former teammates at the Indians game on Tuesday night.

Hall was selected in the eighth round of the Major League Baseball Draft on Monday afternoon.

Hall had outstanding back-to-back seasons with Oral Roberts as a sophomore and junior leading to the Minnesota Twins taking him at No. 248 overall.

Talking to KWON on Tuesday night, Hall says he thought he would have a good chance at getting drafted, but was pleasantly surprised it came so early.

Hall says he had a set number going into the draft where he was going to sign professionally and forgo his senior year at ORU. Getting picked on the second day assured that would be the case.

Hall explains what it was like getting the phone call.

After his third season with the Golden Eagles this past spring, Hall was recognized as the 2024 Summit League's Pitcher of the Year. He also earned spots on the ABCA & Rawlings All-Region Second Team, the 2024 All-Summit League First Team, and the 2024 Summit League All-Tournament Team.

As a key member of the 2023 College World Series squad, Hall leaves ORU with a career record of 20-6 and 239 strikeouts in 232 innings of work.
