The Board of Osage County Commissioners convened for a regularly scheduled meeting at the fairgrounds, which was followed by an important specially called meeting to find a temporary health care provider for the Osage County Jail.

At last week's meeting, the Board had approved a contract with Turn Key Health to become the health care provider for the jail for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. The county discovered that they wouldn't be able to start until mid-July, if not a little bit later though, leaving the county scrambling to find someone to provide that aid for the inmates.

That is why at Monday's meeting, they were looking to sign an agreement with Theresa Flowerette to provide medical oversight for that time. Jail Administrator Darrell Jordan said there is a gap in that contract and it is imperative that they have a provider in place during that time. The Board had two contracts to choose from. Jordan explains the differences to the Board.

The Board opted to sign that contract with Flowerette in the amount of $10,000.
