Bartlesville Man Arrested for Possessing Firearms and Cocaine

A Bartlesville man was arrested Monday after 11 p.m. on the felony charges of possession with intent to distribute, and possession of firearm while committing a felony. Julius Young was pulled over Monday night for speeding on Frank Phillips Blvd near the Hilton Hotel.

After being stopped, police smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle which prompted a search. Before the search, Young told police that he had a Taurus G2c firearm on his person and handed it over. According to an affidavit, marijuana and cocaine were found in the vehicle along with a scale and rolled up $20 bills.

Police also located a loaded 38 special revolver and a Ruger in the glove box. Young was given a $25,000 bond and his next court date will be July 19th.
