New Retail Development Possible Near Silver Lake Village

A new retail development could be coming to Bartlesville next to Silver Lake Village.

The Bartlesville Development Authority held a special meeting Monday evening to approve a purchase contract for just over 15 acres of land directly to the east of the existing shopping center, at the intersection of Adams Boulevard and Lake Village Trail. The deal allows for $95,000 in non-refundable earnest money to the property holders to hold the land for a 12-month period to allow for due diligence on behalf of the BDA and the developer.

Here's BDA President David Wood with the details on the transaction.

Sooner Investment has developed several shopping centers in the Oklahoma City metro area, including University Town Center in Norman and Czech Hall Marketplace in OKC.

Wood says holding the land for 12 months is "step one" to continue major discussions of retail development on the site. If the deal proceeds, the BDA will complete the purchase of the land for just over $1.8 million.

Wood says potential retail brands for the site would be determined by Sooner Investment. The land was previously planned to be developed as an Academy Sports + Outdoors and other smaller stores as phase two of Silver Lake Village, announced in 2016. However, the development did not proceed after Academy pulled out following an economic downturn for the retailer.
