The Children's Musical Theatre is celebrating it's 25th anniversary and they are presenting CINDERELLA, as they did a quarter of a century ago.

CMT 's 2024 Cinderella Director is Caitlyn Caughell.  Caitlyn is a tremendously accomplished performer and professional in the music theatre industry.  She is also a CMT Alum. Caitlyn was Cinderella in the very first CMT production in 2000.

This presentation of CINDERELLA features 64 kids! The show has been double-cast so that more children get better opportunities. Appearing on COMMUNITY CONNECTION, both Ella's, Sophia Hewitt and Blythe Murray, and bothe Topher's, Carter Wells and Jackson Miller shared some of their experiences from this show so far.

The show is Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella is the newest Broadway adaptation of the classic musical. This contemporary take on the classic tale features Rodgers & Hammerstein's most beloved songs alongside an up-to-date, hilarious, and romantic libretto by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane.  Carter Wells said this version has the actors going deeper and finding more genuine emotions than other shows--including humor.

Blythe Murray told us that Beane's 2013 adaptation of this classic invites us to build a better, kinder world together. He has revised the plot so that Cinderella is not merely a kind maiden in distress, but a curious young woman becoming aware of injustices beyond her shabby treatment. She said that when Cinderella meets a dragon-slaying young prince just assuming control of his government, "Ella" helps spark transformation and empower the disenfranchised in their kingdom.
