The 47th annual Air Race Classic flew through Bartlesville last week. Forty-seven planes took to the skies, starting in Carbondale, Illinois and ending in Loveland, Colorado, but making stops in between, one of which was at the Bartlesville Municipal Airport. The 2,628 mile competition more than 100 team members fly through Bartlesville. Airport Director Mike Richardson had this to say on the event:

“We were thrilled to be able to show off our Bartlesville Municipal Airport and support each of the teams. We could not have done it without the help of our team volunteers and the support of the Bartlesville community.”

Some teams stopped in Bartlesville for fuel and a quick break, but 24 teams stayed the night before taking off the next morning.
