The Washington County Sheriff's Office is warning of another telephone scam.

Sheriff Scott Owen says his office has received several reports of receiving a call from someone claiming to be from the sheriff's office, demanding payment for outstanding warrants.

Sheriff Owen says his office does not call people with warrants to demand payment. He says if anyone receives a similar call, do not make a payment over the phone. Instead, hang up and contact the sheriff's office directly at 918-332-4000.
