Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt’s time as governor will run out in 2026, as he is term-limited. Several names have been brought up to replace Stitt in 2026, including U.S. Senator James Lankford, but Lankford put any rumors to rest that he would be running for that office earlier this week:

“I’ve probably answered a hundred times to people, no, not running for governor. But this continues to be able to bubble up in all these places.

Lankford cited that running for governor is not what God called him to do. Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell and State Superintendent Ryan Walters are a select few names who have been floated around as a possible replacement to run for Stitt’s seat.
