An Independence man was seen in Washington County Court Monday on three new felony charges and two previous misdemeanor charges of violating a protective order. Kyler Dowell has been charged three times this month with violating a protective order against the same victim.

According to an affidavit, on June 4^th Dowell called the victim around 9 p.m. and came in contact with her for a five-minute phone call. Later that evening at 12:30 a.m., it was called in that a “prowler” was trying to break into a home on the 1300 block of S. Rockdale Rd.  

Three days later, Dowell allegedly called the victim from the Montgomery County Jail and left her a voicemail. Dowell has a protective order against him which prohibits him from contacting the alleged victim. Including the 2024 charges, Dowell has been charged with violating a protective order six times since 2022.

Dowell was given a $25,000 aggregate bond for all cases.
