Sheriff's Office to Receive New GPS System

The Washington County Sheriff's Office will be using a new vendor for GPS fleet tracking after the Board of County Commissioners approved a contract on Monday.
Undersheriff Jon Copeland saysVerizon Connect will provide a more reliable service and at a cheaper rate, saving taxpayers money.
Copeland says the Verizon service will allow for maintenance alerts, hard braking and rapid acceleration alerts, as well as traffic stop times and tracking of the sheriff's fleet in the field.
