The Bartlesville Salvation Army has been very busy this summer helping people recover from the recent tornado and severe storms.

Appearing on COMMUNITY CONNECTION, Lt Tonya Swain and Development Director Monica Camp said our local Salvation Army helped 240 people after the May 6th tornado and serving thousands of meals and assisting in other ways to help those affected by the storms to get back on their path following the disruption.

The summer activity has been in full gear with Shield Club kiddos finishing up Camp Heart O Hills for a week of summer fun. The youngsters recently visited Bartlesville Radio for a tour and they even got to record some messages on air! They listened to Ms. Dorea Potter explain how the radio station works every day to get the news and the music out on air. KYFMs DJ Joe Riddle showed them how to record a message and hear it back, which they thought was pretty cool.

Tonya said they are preparing for Vacation Bible School in a few weeks and then it is off to plan for Thanksgiving, The Red Kettle Dinner and the Angel Tree.
