The Nowata County Commissioners discussed multiple items on Monday, starting with the sales tax budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The biggest point of discussion in that was the budget for the Nowata Public Library as they are set to hire an entirely new staff at the beginning of the month.

The sales tax payout is divided between three entities including the library, the fair building, and the extension building.

Nowata County Clerk Kay Spurgeon explained in further detail.

The motion was accepted by the Commissioners. Next, they also agreed to re-up the county’s participation in the ACCO-SIF workman’s compensation program for another year.

The commissioners will meet again next Monday at 9 am at the Nowata County Courthouse Annex and the meeting is open to the public.
