Westside Community Center is one of the oldest community organizations in Bartlesville. WCC has been the social, recreational, cultural, and educational hub of the Westside of Bartlesville for generations.

At the Juneteenth and West Side Community Center Grand Re-openning on Saturday at the center at 501 South Bucy in Bartlessville, many got to meet the new Executive Director, Shavon Robles. Hundreds attended the event and many listened as an enthusiastic and inspiring Ms. Robles talked about the center's past and how the center will be reimagined for the future.

Shavon talked about new programs such as conflict resolution for not only children but for adults as well. She wants programs for young boys to see and be around men for lessons in how to become a man as well as programs for men to share their situations with other men for their own strength and well being.

Many of the successful programs will remain at the the West Side Community Center such as the Smoltz Technology Lab, the Work Ethics Pro$per is a business mentorship and internship program, Community Advanced Study Hall (C.A.S.H.) with state-of-the-art Google Chrome Books with Google Cloud storage and free lightning-fast wi-fi, along others.

Shavon Robles now calls The West Side Community Center "The multi-cultural hub for all of Bartlesville."
