A man was seen in Washington Court on Friday afternoon after a security camera caught him stealing property.

It is alleged that Jay Lacy knowingly received or concealed stolen property early Thursday morning, as security footage showed the defendant breaking into a garage that was converted into a residence space, that at the time was unoccupied.

An affidavit states that the security camera witnessed Lacy steal multiple items, including a bicycle, weed eater, various video games, controllers, a pellet gun and other tools. When the victim saw Lacy on his street, the victim called police. The defendant was placed in custody and a search resulted in finding the the stolen items.

Lacy has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2000. Lacy's bond was set at $30,000 on the condition he has no contact with the alleged victim. His next court date is next Friday.
