The Nowata County Sheriff’s office warns that there is a scam going around which includes instructions for people to pay so much money or they will be arrested.

This is coming by a letter in the mail and phone calls using a Nowata number are saying you need to pay money by credit card, or you will be arrested. 

The Sheriff’s Office stresses that this is a scam and to not pay them money but instead call The Sheriff's Office 918-273-2287 and report it.
